Pumpkin Painting at Arts Fest 2017

in News by Karen Hessel

On Saturday, October 7th families enjoyed pumpkin painting and face painting with executive board member Steve Nakashima and his family. The monarch butterflies attended the event as well, attracted by the nectar of the nearby butterfly bush in the maze garden.

Steve wrote “We hung out under the shade of the spruce tree where kids and parents painted murals, created sidewalk chalk pictures, painted flower pots and pasted googly eye and pipe cleaners to pumpkins. We had more than 40 families registered and more than 60 kids participating.

Thanks to Margaret, Millie, Karen, Sharon, Erica and Kathleen for coming to help out.  Big thank you to my family, Sophie and Camille, for their masterful face painting artistry and organizational skills. Kathleen, thanks for bringing the large pumpkins too.”
